Global Classroom

The Vision

At Marshland High School it is our vision to increase global learning and awareness across staff and pupils and to build good, equitable relationships with schools abroad. It is our intention that all students will thrive in our vibrant and inclusive school community, learning and transmitting values of tolerance and respect for cultural diversity. We will continue to work to educate our students in the important global issues outlined in the UN Sustainability goal by including international work as part of our curriculum and helping embed it within our school's culture. We were happy to successfully achieve the Intermediate International Schools Award in September 2021, and have now applied for full accreditation.

Our Partner Schools

Naveejawan Educational Academy

In April 2021 we formed a partnership with Navajeewan Educational Academy in Kathmandu via the British Council and Connecting Classrooms teams. We chose Nepal as it contrasts to our own country allowing staff and pupils to explore different views, experiences building a more diverse knowledge and understanding.

We have been working on sharing ideas about life and culture through art, food, and virtual meetings between our International Ambassadors and the Nepaleese students. We have been developing resources tackling aspects of the UN Sustainability Goals through assemblies. Sharing videos from each school, made by the students, showing how it is impacting their country. We have prepared shared lessons, such as Sustainable Food Production in Science, then shared pictures of our progress within the projects.
