Marshland cheerleaders

The world of competitive cheerleading is being brought to life with our latest musical production.

Our fantastic drama department is presenting Bring it on: The Musical, and the cast of 34 has been rehearsing hard for months ahead of the show’s opening night on February 4.

“We have some amazingly talented gymnasts who have adapted their skills to be our cheer tumblers, with some advancing to flyers,” said Jayne Dix, Head of Drama.

“Cheerleading is not something that is at the forefront of the Marshland community, but we have worked hard, persevered and challenged ourselves to become better and better,” she added.

Bring it on: The Musical tells the story of student Campbell Davis, a young cheerleader who dreams of leading her squad to victory at a national competition. She appears to have it all, including the title of cheer captain, when she is mysteriously assigned to a different school where she hardly knows anyone and there is no cheerleading squad.

The story focuses on the world of competitive cheerleading and the intense rivalries it creates among teenagers.

Show week is February 4 to 6 and the doors open at 6pm, show starts at 6.30pm.  Tickets are £8,  available through the MCAS app for parents, or by contacting the school on 01945584146 or email c.brett@marshlandhhigh.co.uk
